
Meet Jack
Jack Norrell is a graduate of Cameron University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree, followed by a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, earned in 1996. With a foundation rooted in clinical social work, Jack began his career in an acute care hospital setting before transitioning into specialized clinical roles. These roles have included in-patient psychiatric treatment for adolescents, geriatric psychiatry, inpatient rehabilitation, and legal clinical social work consultation.
Over the past two decades, Jack has significantly contributed to community mental health through both practice and education. For 20 years, he served as an Assistant Clinical Professor with the University of Oklahoma’s Family Medicine Residency Program, teaching behavioral medicine to future healthcare professionals. Jack also dedicated four years of service to the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers, including one year as Board Chair.

In addition to academic and clinical work, Jack has held a judicial appointment to a Post-Adjudication Review Board, served as President of the Graduate Student Association at the University of Oklahoma School of Social Work, and was an invited speaker at public hearings hosted by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth. His leadership and advocacy were recognized with a nomination for the NASW Graduate Student Social Worker of the Year award.
Jack’s service to the Lawton community includes roles with the Lawton Urban Renewal Authority, consultation to the Neuroscience Task Force, and repeated invitations to speak at the University of Oklahoma School of Social Work’s hooding ceremonies. He has also served as an adjunct professor overseeing field practicum placements and was appointed to a national exam item-writing committee.
For the past 25 years, Jack has maintained a successful private practice, providing direct clinical social work and mental health services. His current clinical focus is on individuals aged 13 and older, addressing a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and adoption home studies. Services are available through most major commercial insurance plans as well as private pay arrangements.
